Marquez tops Sepang FP1 as Martin finishes 20th and is declared fit
With more than 10 years of experience in online marketing, five of them focused on the gaming affiliate sector, Martins Lasmanis is a true expert in his field. His vision today is to build the largest lead-generation company in the world. Luckily, we have the perfect team to make that dream come true!
Marc Marquez was fastest in the first free practice session (FP1) of the 2026 Malaysian MotoGP at the Sepang circuit on Friday, 30 October. The Ducati rider set a time of 1 minute 58.912 seconds and was the only rider to go under 1 minute 59 seconds.
Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) and Pedro Acosta (KTM) set exactly the same time, 1 minute 59.386 seconds, leaving both 0.474 seconds behind Marquez. Enea Bastianini and Brad Binder completed the top five.
The main focus was on Jorge Martin. The Aprilia rider took to the track with a non-displaced fracture of his right wrist, an injury from his crash in the Australian MotoGP sprint. He needed help putting on his gloves, then completed 12 laps and finished 20th with a time of 2 minutes 0.747 seconds, 1.835 seconds behind Marquez.
After FP1, Martin underwent a further medical check and was declared fit to race at Sepang. That matters in the title fight, as Martin trails Marquez by 10 points in the standings.
It was a different story for Raul Fernandez. The Trackhouse Aprilia rider broke his right index finger in a crash in the Indonesian MotoGP sprint and was declared unfit for the rest of the weekend after FP1.
The weekend at Sepang continues with the sprint on Saturday, 31 October, and the main race on Sunday, 1 November. Both start at 2pm Western Indonesia Time.
