Indonesia U-15 beat Burundi 6-1 in the final Group G match of the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival 2026 at the Hovsan Competition Complex in Azerbaijan on Monday, 26 October 2026. The result closed the qualifying stage with Indonesia finishing third in the group.

The big win came after Garuda Muda narrowly lost 1-2 to Portugal earlier on the same day.

Coach Furqon Alkatiri's side made a quick start. Muhammad Hariri opened the scoring in the second minute with an individual effort, and Rendra Maulana doubled the lead in the 10th minute from a pass by Lyonel Musaling. The 2-0 scoreline held until half-time.

Burundi pulled one back in the 28th minute. Indonesia responded straight away through Hariri's second goal, followed by Reganatha Harfi and Muhammad Nazar. The sixth goal came from a coordination error in Burundi's defence.

Eight-a-side

This was the first edition of the FIFA U-15 tournament, contested by 190 nations in 32 groups. Matches were played in an eight-a-side format over two 20-minute halves. No team was eliminated in the group stage, as final positions only determined the level of opposition in the next phase.

Indonesia finished Group G with seven points from five matches, a record of two wins, one draw and two defeats. Wales topped the group with 13 points, one point ahead of Portugal. Burundi, Bangladesh and Fiji finished below Indonesia.

As a third-placed team, Garuda Muda move into Tier C. The tournament's next phase is scheduled to take place from 28 to 30 October 2026 in Azerbaijan.
